“My future”
Posted on May 9th, 2010 at 11:14 am by and

collegeOn class, we got asked to write about what our plans for the future are. But the thing is that I don’t know what I want for my future, I sure know that I want to finish studying at least until college, but what am I going to do after that???. I wouldn’t really like to have my future planned step by step I would just like to live my life and just front the things that are to come up without knowing they´re coming up. My parents sure expect me to have a good future. I think they want what most of their parents want for their children, Finish studying, get a good job, just move out of the house and live happily ever after :) . But the good thing is that I get to decide for what I want for my future, maybe just finishing college and get a whole year to travel around the world and then get a job I like. At this age I don’t really know what i want  but sooner I know I’m going to have to make some decisions about it, but at this time i have to just enjoy life and don’t worry about it too much. :)

“The Giver”, Likes and dislikes.

up-and-down

“The giver” is the new novel we are reading in our english class, and we have to make some points about things we like and dont like about their community.

I really like their Community because it seems like they really work together and that they´re really close. I like how everyone gets a job and how they have certain rules that helps their community. Like the rule for the pilots if the pilot could it have followed the rule of pilots not been allowed to fly over the community he wouldnt have done such a huge mess by crashing and getting himself released. But I dont like that they have lots and lots of rules, I mean sometimes you need to have rules; even your parents give you some rules and they do it for your good. But in the novel they also have rules for adults and adults can not break them or otherwise they´ll get released but I think adults shouldn´t have rules because as an adult you get  to a certain age when you know when you are doing things right and when you are doing something you are not supossed to do. As a children you might need some rules but not as much as they have in their community because it stops the chilndren from exploring and trying new things. Like the rule of children not been allowed to ride a bicycle until the age of 9 or own one until the age of 12 thats really unfair and i dont really think its fair. :)

Charles I…!!
Posted on November 16th, 2009 at 11:00 am by and

dyck-equestrian-portrait-charles-NG1172-fm     Charles I [1600-1649]

King Charles was born in 1600 in Durnfermline, he was the son of James VI. Charles was the King of England, Scotland and Ireland and he was the last king to be born in Scotland. He became the king because his brother died at the age of 16. Charles ascended to the throne at the age of 25 He was sick and he had health problems but that didn’t stop him from taking the power. He married a Catholic princess, Henrietta Maria of France and they had 4 sons and 5 daughters.

Why is he important in history..?

He´s important in history because he became king of England, Scotlamd and Ireland and in the english civil war he fought for the rights and forces of the English and Scotish parliament.

How Charles I was portrayed as powerful..?

On most of his paintings he was portrayed on horses as if he was the head of the knights because of the civil war and he´s dress in armour and holding a commander’s baton. And in most of his paintings he´s got a landscape of a blue sky and green valleys with trees behind him that symbolize scotland and england and also behind him you can see a Big tree giving him shade so he could be protected from the sun.

First time in a lifetime..!! =O

In class we´ve been reading Esperanza rising and we got to the part where Esperanza becomes poor and she has to wash clothes, cook and clean lots of stuff. So we decided to do it at least an hour to see how poor people feels when they do that.

First we started by making tortillas, i used to made them when i was little but not by the way we did it at school it was fun but i ended up all dirty and with butter all over my hands =S. Then we started sweeping it was disgusting all the dirt was everywhere, the teachers pushed over the buckets where the we use to put the dirt on, and of course that was my first time sweeping so i didn´t know what to do. At last we started washing clothes with our hands, we also had to wash baby diapers =S and the worst thing was that the water had onions in it that was also the first time i washed clothes. I really feel sorry for the people that has to do it everyday and i know how tired it is and how they feel now. =(

Right or Privilege..??
Posted on November 8th, 2009 at 12:12 pm by and

In school we´ve been reading esperanza reasing and a question came up while we were reading, Is school a right or a privilege..?

I think school is privilege beacuse not everyone needs to or wants to go to school and not everyone one needs to or wants to be able to earn a good living. But it actually depends on the place you are living like in the U.S primary education is a right and most people might not like that but most people think that´s how is supposed to be. But i think it should be a right because not many people has the money to afford it and to actually get an educational life like anyone else who has the opportunity and if you do have the opportunity you should be happy of it because not everyone does but i do think everyone should have an education because it helps them in their future.

Rich and Poor.. =/

rich_poorRichpoorIn class we´ve been reading Esperanza Rising and we saw a qoute that said ¨The rich take care of rich and the poor take care of those who have less than what thy have.”

I think that what Miguel meant saying that was that rich people are selfish and they just care about how much money they have and about themselfs and they might not see what´s happening around them when they could help others who need money or love, they won´t help. But poor people have a great heart so they might not have money but they are rich in love and they might just care about them selfs they also care about others and about their family and friends so they have to work hard to get money to live. And rich people could help others but from the same class as them and i don´t think they would help them giving them money i think they would just help them making a hamburguer in a party when other people are crying because they don´t have enuff money so they could buy something to eat. So i think that, why not use your money to help others that have less than what you have? =/  So just stop what you are doing  and think would you want to help others and die knowing that you did great things or would you rather die alone without anyone missing you and remembering all the great things you did..? =S

Music, Dancing, Art, Drama..!!!! =)

In class we were reading Esperanza Rising and Miguel [character from the book] said that he´s really passionate about trains, so we started to talk about things that we were passionate about so now i´m going to write some of the things i´m passionate about.

I´m passionate about music and different tipes of music from slow music till fast music. I´m also passionate about dancing because i see it as a way of having fun and expressing yourself, my friends say that i´m really good at dancing and at making  dancing coreographies. One of the things i´m aslso passionate about is art beacuse it´s really fun and entertaining. I love drama and is the thing that i´m most passionate about because it builds self confidence and that´s when you are not scare of what other people thinks of you like when you can be at your drama class and you´ll have to be jumping around the class room, singing, screaming, or even crying and other people could look at you and say that you are crazy but they don´t get it´s acting it´s drama it´s a way of expressing yourself and of course having fun! ;) drama-faces

The poor

look_at_fuelIn class when we were reading the esparaza rising book we started to talk about the poor people and about our experiences with them. So now I´m goin to write one of my experiences that i had with an african poor girl who got amaze with my stuff.

Once when i was on africa i was walking on the street and this african girl came up to me and ask me about my ipod she said she had never seen one like it before so then she started to look at me and she asked.. ¨where do get all of this from?¨ and i said a store and then she said that she dreamed of going to a store but that she wasn´t aloud to go to one because every time she was about to enter to one people would tell her to get out and kicked her because she was to poor and she couldn´t afford any of the things in a store so then i gave her some money and candy and she looked at me amazed and she asked ¨what am i supposed to do with this¨and i said now with the money you can go to a store pick something and buy it and the candy it´s for you to eat it… so she smiled and she said thank you, you just maked my dream come true.. =)

I think that poor people might not have money but they are rich in the inside they have a great heart and they know how to use it. :)

Run!! Fire..!!! =O

In class we´ve been talking about what ezperanza took whit her when her house got on fire. So now we have to write about what would we take if we would it been on the same situacion as her.

house-fire1m

If my house burnt down and i had to pack up somethiing very special and leave in an instant i would take my photo album. It was given to me by my mum 2 years ago, and by now i have lots of photos on it. I would it take that because it has great memories of my friends and places that i´ve been too. And if you´re sad or depressed you could just take a look to the photos and remember all those great moments and just laugh about it. :)  ;)

Love story not so lovely.. =(

In class we´ve been reading esperanza rising and now we´ve got to the part where it says that Miguel and Esperanza can never marry and we have to write why and what we think about it.

Distance     They can never marry because Miguel is the housekeeper’s son and Esperanza is the ranch owner’s daughter and in those days it was kind of impossible to get marry if you were not in the same class. Esperanza is in a higher class and Miguel in a lower class. In the book the author explains it as a strong deep big river between them which they can never crossed. =S =( I think that´s really unfair because you are  supposed to marry the boy/girl you love and not someone that has to be on the same class as you i mean what if he´s really ugly and you hate him o.O we as girls can make our own decitions, but in those times you couldn´t.. =( =S
